Lynette came to the Ohio State University Extension and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program in 2001. She likes to say she was thrilled to work for a program that serves limited resource families because she’s “a kid from the same neighborhoods”. “It’s exciting that we (EFNEP Program Assistants) are one-woman shows. We can teach anywhere and bring everything we need to the site”, she says.
For many years Lynette grew a quarter of an acre of vegetables every season and so is a huge supporter of community gardens and incorporating the food grown by her participants into her classes. “Such a critical issue, especially for our participants who live in food deserts, as many do”.
