Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal illness caused by the Cyclospora parasite. People can become infected by consuming food or water that contains the parasite. The illness causes frequent, watery and explosive diarrhea.

There is currently an outbreak of cyclosporiasis in several states, including Ohio.
